WHO CAN BECOME A FOSTER CARER?
There is no set criteria, they come in all shapes and sizes.
Every foster child will have a unique background and upbringing, therefore each child will be different. The care and support they need will be shaped to make sure it is absolutely right.
We need foster carers who come from different backgrounds and cultures, who follow different religions and hold a wide range of beliefs. We are then better able to match the right carer to the right foster child.

As professionals it is important to understand that there is a financial incentive for any foster care that takes place. This is not only to recognise the great and sometimes difficult job that you are doing, but also forms financial aid to cover the cost of the child's care, like buying food, clothes and medicine.
HOW FOSTER CARE WORKS
There is a minimum set criteria we require before we can proceed with your application. Can you answer 'Yes' to ALL the following questions?
Do you have a spare bedroom in your home?
Have you had any experience with children before?
Do you have a legal right to work in the UK?
Are you able to speak English reasonably well?
